Father's Day

Father's Day came a week later at our house. I was sick that weekend and couldn't get everything done that I wanted to get done. . . . So we surprised Jake with another Father's Day!!

The kids and I had alot of fun shopping together!!! We spent alot of time driving around; we knew what we wanted to get him, but couldn't find it anywhere. Then both kids helped me wrap Jake's gift!

And, of course, we had to play a few little jokes on Daddy

He Loved his Father's DAy, even if it was a week late!!!

A DAy Off ! !

So, It finally worked out for me. . . .There was a day (a Friday at that) that it all worked out for me to have NO daycare kids here!! I didn't find out 'til 7:40 that morning, but I'm not complaining. :) My mom is now on summer vacation so we planned a little field trip to McDonald's and Fun Run!!! We had a blast with the kids!!!

Abram still thinks Marlee is a little baby sometimes, he was helping her down the slide. At least that's what he said. I kinda think he was wanting her to hit him!!!

I love these 3 pics of Abe, expecially the one with him in the fireman's hat!! He is always just posing away!!

Water Fun ! !

Well, this last week has been too cold to participate in any water fun, but a couple weeks ago we got the little pool out and the sprinkler. Abram and Marlee had alot of fun! It took Abe awhile longer to warm up to the water, but Marlee loved it!!

I caved in and bought 'the kids' a pool this last weekend. The kids had a blast in the fill up stage, but Abram is really liery of the pool. I know that it's a stage that he is at, but hopefully he grows out of it soon!! Marlee took a little bit to finally 'trust me' in the water. Then she was all over the place!!
One of the cutest things that Abram says now is, "I'm takin' off my shirt to go to the beach!" Once his swim trunks are on that is the first thing he does!! Too Cute!!

Marlee Did It!!!

She finally did it!! She got up, walked over to me and said, "Mommy, Pee Pee in the Potty!" We ran to the bathroom and she went!!! Hip Hip Hooray!! She has been going on the potty sometimes like before her bath, but this is the first time she actually said she had to go and completed the task!!

Let's hope for smooth sailing on the potty training!!

I'm kickin' it to high gear!

Marlee's 2nd Birthday! !

Jake was lucky enough to win our Farkle. . .So he got to help Marlee open her presents this year!!

Jake and I got Marlee this WAY COOL Trampoline!! She absolutely LOVES it and plays with it all the time!!

Marlee loved to let all the balloons go!

Making a 'WISH'!

Jake, Me, and Abram took Marlee to eat @ Red Robin on her actual Birthday. They sang to her and she got ice cream. . . She was in Heaven!!

Abram's Photo Shoot!

Abram is becoming quite the little model!! He actually came up with all of these posses!! Too Cute!!

Abram Can Write His Name!!

I recently bought the Hooked On Phonics Beginners pack. Abram and I had been working on it for about a week. After one of his 'lessons' he helped me pick everything up and said, "Mommy, I want to write my name." I was so excited, I got out the marker and paper and Abram DID IT!! This was the first one he did!! When we would go to restaurants he would write the letters of his name on the little color sheets that they give you, but I never made him write them in a straight line before now.

Jake and I are amazed at how fast Abram is catching on to everything!! Our Little Man is growing up so quick. We wonder what he will be doing next. . . . . . . . . . .

Snow Adventure!

We decided that if there was still snow on Tuesday that we would let Papa (my dad) pull the kids behind the 4 wheeler.
Well. . . There was still snow!
So we went to Papa and Nana's and bundled the kids up. My dad went down to get the sled so that he could show me what it looked like. He came back up the steps with this little 2' x 6' sled. I thought that this thing would be way bigger than that. I was thinking, to myself, does he really expect for me and both kids to fit on that thing?
Well. . .He did!
So, the kids were bundled up. My dad decided that he was driving and my mom would video tape.
I sat in the back with Marlee in between my legs; and Abram sat in front of her. I then wrapped my legs around the both of them and held on the best I could.
We made it around the front half of my parents' pasture once. The kids seemed to be doing very good, and having lots of fun. Every once in awhile we would hit a drift and snow would get in Abe's face -which he didn't like-, but the kids said they wanted to go again.
So we continued around, and made it half way. Then, we hit a big snow drift and Abe's face was covered in snow. We weren't going very fast so I took one of my hands off the get the snow off of Abram's face. Then my dad slowed down which put a little slack in the rope. When he sped back up again the slack jerked us and we just couldn't hold on. My dad had no idea so he started to speed back up.
I knew that we were going to fall off. There was no staying on this thing. I wrapped my arms around both kids and did a backwards roll off the sled so that I would take the blow of the fall.

We were all okay except Abram had even more snow in his face, and we know how much he likes that!!

Oh, I almost forgot, My dad agrees that we need a bigger sled!!!!!

M-I-L-K

Abram read his first word today. It was a little difficult, but we finally got him to read the word 'Milk'! He was playing with flash cards and going over all the letters and their sounds. He is really getting AWESOME with it.

I got up to get Marlee some milk and thought, hey, Milk would be a great word for him to sound out. So I grabbed a piece of paper and a marker and wrote 'MILK' really big on it. I took it to Abram and had him tell me the letters on the paper. Then together we made the sounds that the letters make. I asked Abram to put the letters together. He then took both of his hands on the paper and physically tried to push them together. I laughed and then said no, with your mouth put the letters together. He then put his head down to the paper with his mouth on the letters and began shaking his head. I said, "No buddy, We need to put the sounds that the letters make together to make a word!"

He made the sound of the 'M', then the 'I', then the 'L', then the 'K'. I had him keep repeating it and finally he said "MILK?" I said,"Yes Abe, You did it!! You read your first word!!" He was so happy with himself.

He can't wait to show off his new feat!!

Getting Started

Well, I have finally decided to start this thing up. I hope that I will be able to keep up with it!
