Snow Adventure!

We decided that if there was still snow on Tuesday that we would let Papa (my dad) pull the kids behind the 4 wheeler.
Well. . . There was still snow!
So we went to Papa and Nana's and bundled the kids up. My dad went down to get the sled so that he could show me what it looked like. He came back up the steps with this little 2' x 6' sled. I thought that this thing would be way bigger than that. I was thinking, to myself, does he really expect for me and both kids to fit on that thing?
Well. . .He did!
So, the kids were bundled up. My dad decided that he was driving and my mom would video tape.
I sat in the back with Marlee in between my legs; and Abram sat in front of her. I then wrapped my legs around the both of them and held on the best I could.
We made it around the front half of my parents' pasture once. The kids seemed to be doing very good, and having lots of fun. Every once in awhile we would hit a drift and snow would get in Abe's face -which he didn't like-, but the kids said they wanted to go again.
So we continued around, and made it half way. Then, we hit a big snow drift and Abe's face was covered in snow. We weren't going very fast so I took one of my hands off the get the snow off of Abram's face. Then my dad slowed down which put a little slack in the rope. When he sped back up again the slack jerked us and we just couldn't hold on. My dad had no idea so he started to speed back up.
I knew that we were going to fall off. There was no staying on this thing. I wrapped my arms around both kids and did a backwards roll off the sled so that I would take the blow of the fall.

We were all okay except Abram had even more snow in his face, and we know how much he likes that!!

Oh, I almost forgot, My dad agrees that we need a bigger sled!!!!!

M-I-L-K

Abram read his first word today. It was a little difficult, but we finally got him to read the word 'Milk'! He was playing with flash cards and going over all the letters and their sounds. He is really getting AWESOME with it.

I got up to get Marlee some milk and thought, hey, Milk would be a great word for him to sound out. So I grabbed a piece of paper and a marker and wrote 'MILK' really big on it. I took it to Abram and had him tell me the letters on the paper. Then together we made the sounds that the letters make. I asked Abram to put the letters together. He then took both of his hands on the paper and physically tried to push them together. I laughed and then said no, with your mouth put the letters together. He then put his head down to the paper with his mouth on the letters and began shaking his head. I said, "No buddy, We need to put the sounds that the letters make together to make a word!"

He made the sound of the 'M', then the 'I', then the 'L', then the 'K'. I had him keep repeating it and finally he said "MILK?" I said,"Yes Abe, You did it!! You read your first word!!" He was so happy with himself.

He can't wait to show off his new feat!!

Getting Started

Well, I have finally decided to start this thing up. I hope that I will be able to keep up with it!
